bcftools software package provides genomic variant calling and manipulation of VCF/BCF files, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install bcftools
bcftools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the bcftools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep bcftools *
You will get with bcftools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
